Report and Photos by Doug Engstrom

Round five of the MMA Spring Provincial Championship brought to you by Royal Distributing, saw the MMA caravan make its last appearance at Melita’s Sandy Oaks Raceway for 2008.

Jeremy Breemersch was hard on the gas in Melita. Breemersch took the overall in the MX-1 Intermediate class when his 2-1 day took the tie breaker from Chris Plett’s 1-2 rides. In the MX-2 Intermediate class, Breemersch would have to settle for second overall after a couple of moto long battles with the eventual victor Josh Pfrimmer.

Joshua Van Soest had a season best fourth place finish in the 85cc 7-11 class.

Ricky Neil found himself smack dab in the middle of a three way tie for second overall in the MX-2 Beginner class. Neil’s 3-3 finishes left him in third behind the 4-2 rides of Kelvin Dalke and ahead of the 2-4 finishes of Justin Rocan.

Two was the number of the day for Joel Reimer. 2-2 moto scores left Reimer with second overall in the ATV Beginner class.

Sibling rivalry as a motivator? Cody Peters romped through the sands of Melita taking all three overalls in the Youth B, MX-2 and MX-3 Junior classes. This exactly one week after watching his brother Everett accomplish the same feat in Gimli.

Nicholas Friesen grabbed a podium finish in the 50cc 7-8 class with a 3-3 day for third overall.

After a first turn crash in the first MX-2 Pro moto, Aaron Pfrimmer put on an epic charge. Pfrimmer picked up his gregscustom.com RMZ in dead last and proceeded to slice his way through the pack to take his first ever Pro moto victory. Another victory in moto two gave Pfrimmer his first overall in the Pro class. Pfrimmer was also the only 250F mounted pilot in the top five of the Youth class with a second place finish.

Ken Klassen went three for four on the day for moto victories, taking the overalls in the Vet Junior and 40+ B classes in the process.

The 50cc 4-6 class saw Kobe Wall take home second place hardware.

Chad Marcyniuk led wire to wire in both ATV Pro motos to take the overall.

Dawson Lawrence looked comfortable in the sand with a top five overall with a fourth place finish.

Danny Winistok left Melita with a pair of podium finishes, taking the overall in the 40+ class to go with his third place finish in the Vet Master class.

Brayden Foster took the overall in the 85cc 12-16 class ahead of class leaders Richmond Morin and Rio Stoesz.

Jamie Burmey had a moto victory on her way to second place overall in the Ladies class.

Evan Taylor got the overall with a pair of moto wins in the MX-1 Beginner class.

MX-1 Junior action saw Garrett Graboweski top a podium that included Ian Smith and Russ Suderman.

Westside Honda’s Eddie Anderson is really starting to hit his stride this season. Anderson looked very strong at Melita on his way to second overall in the MX-1 Pro class.

After taking time off to recover from an injury and to become a Father, Chris Elliot made his first appearance of 2008 taking second overall in the 25+ class.

See you at the races…
