Manitoba Motocross Association: Race Report from Baldur Raceway, Baldur

Report and Photos by Doug Engstrom

Baldur Raceway played host to a strong fall turnout for Round Six of the Fall Provincial Championships brought to you by Royal Distributing.

Frederickson Performance Centre’s Jim Frederickson showed up for his home race and quickly shook off any rust on his way to winning the overall in the Vet Master and 25+ classes.

Brian Klassen found his way to the podium in the 65cc 7-9 class taking third overall with 5-3 finishes.

Branden Senchuk has been triple classing it all fall and finds himself in three very different situations as the points pile up for the Fall championships. Senchuk widened his huge points lead in the Youth B class with a 2-2 day for second overall. In MX-3 Junior he closed the points deficit to two on leader Matt Anseeuw with a pair of moto wins. Another pair of second place rides in MX-2 Junior helped Senchuk move into third in the points with two races to go.

I’m guessing Dylan Weidenhamer will remember this day for awhile. Weidenhamer got his first moto win as well as his first ever overall victory with a 1-3 tally in the MX-2 Beginner class.

Jeremy Breemersch continues to put in strong motos in both Intermediate classes week in and week out. A third place overall finish in each class has Breemersch sitting in third in the series in MX-2 Intermediate and second in the MX-1 Intermediate championship.

Richmond Morin looked very impressive on his way to 1-1 finishes in 85cc 12-16 class racing and a 2-2 day in the Supermini class.

The 50cc 4-6 class saw Karly Friesen and….

Jared Friesen make their racing debut at Baldur.

I try to change up the people in these reports and I know Kim Houde was in the last report but I dig this shot so he’s in again this week. Houde took top spot in the 40+ class over Danny Winistok and Scott Harland.

Carmen Regier took home third place hardware in the Ladies class with 3-3 finishes.

With a #1 Pro Plate hanging in the balance, Capitol Motosports Josh Shiskoski put in four strong motos in Baldur. Shiskoski went 2-2 in MX-2 Pro for second overall, and picked up the win in MX-1 Pro with 2-1 rides. By my extremely unofficial 3 A.M. ciphering, Shiskoski now holds a 29 point lead with 8 motos left on the schedule.

Devon Wiebe is proving to be a quick study in his first year of racing. Wiebe went 8-8 for eighth overall in the 65cc 10-11 class.

A pair of holeshots helped power Addison Sandfuchs (30) to a sixth place overall finish in the MX-1 Junior class.

The 50cc 7-8 class saw Ryan Kokorudz put in a podium performance going 4-3 for third overall.

Westside Honda’s Eddie Anderson took home a pair of second place overall finishes in the Youth and MX-1 Pro classes.

Matt Reling stood on the last step on the box in the MX-1 Beginner class after 3-4 moto finishes.

Zach Gibson put his trick looking Dirt Dogs Racing CR85 in the top five in the 85cc 7-11 class, taking fifth overall.

Chris Raffard brapped his way to the podium in the Vet Junior class with a 2-5 day for third overall.

See you at the races…
